How to get there...
How do you get to Cuenca to attend the 4th IMERP?
It is very easy!
1. Fly to Madrid or Valencia
Cuenca does not have an airport, unfortunately. However, Madrid and Valencia are very close! Both Madrid's and Valencia's airports have international flights connecting to all European capitals and mayor cities worldwide. You could even spend a day or two sighteeing in Madrid or eating a delicious paella in Valencia!
We know flight can be expensive... but fortunately, many low-cost companies operate from Madrid and Valencia!
2. Madrid-Cuenca or Valencia-Cuenca
Once you get to either Valencia or Madrid, you can drive or take a bus to Cuenca (it takes less of two hours from Madrid and a bit more from Valencia). Buses to Cuenca leave on a regular basis from Madrid's bus terminal at Méndez Alvaro, and also from Valencia's bus terminal.
Another great option is to take the world renowned Spanish high-speed train (AVE) from either Madrid or Valencia (taking you to Cuenca in less than an hour in both cases). Moreover, Renfe (Spanish national railways) is sponsoring us with a 30% discount on tickets.
3. Once in Cuenca...
Cuenca is quite a small city, and in a few hours you will feel confident enough to know the place by heart! Both the bus station and the train station are located in the center of the city, very close to both the accomodation and the venue. Check the "Accomodation" section for the exact location of your hotel/hostel.
